Underprivileged teenagers in Peru and India are learning the art of photography and using it to earn a living by selling their pictures.
The FairMail project gives youth who previously worked on garbage dumps in Peru and underprivileged children from poor backgrounds in India an opportunity to learn new skills that can give them a more secure and better future. Much of the work with young people is done by international volunteer workers who play an important role in teaching photography, photo editing and composition.
FairMail was founded by Janneke Smeulders and Peter den Hond, the Dutch founders of Otra Cosa, an organisation that coordinates voluntary workers for a number of charities and social responsibility projects in Peru.
Nordic Light now wants to become a bridge for FairMail in Scandinavia, and help to promote this marvellous initiative.
