Last weekend, Ingunn Strand, our managing director visited the Landskrona Photo Festival on the south-eastern coast of Sweden. Landskrona being a small town with only 30,000 inhabitants, they can show off an impressive photo festival with remarkable and creative presentations of the works being exhibited.
During the 19th – 28th of August 2016 the festival presented more than 150 photographers and visitors from all over the world. With names like: Elina Brotherus (which also will visit us in may 2017), Dorothée Smith, Joan Fontcuberta, Anna Katharina Scheidegger, Isabelle Darrigrand and Jason Larkin there was much to be seen.
Our managing director was especially impressed by the organization of the festival. The City of Landskrona turns in to a big out door gallery during the festival, where every city-square metre is used to its full potential. With clean, interesting and beautiful exhibitions, the festival seems to be conducted by focusing on high quality in every division. All credit to the managers and volunteers!
There was ten days of exhibitions, photo books, seminars, portfolio reviews, artist talks and more. Even though the festival is quite new with only 3 past editions, they have managed to become an international meeting place for photographers and those with an interest in photography.
