The story of Mai Loc is the story of a Vietnamese cycle-taxi driver who received a camera from a Norwegian couple and created for himself a new career as a photographer. In 2006, Loc visited, with enormous success, the first ever Nordic Light festival and thereafter shown his pictures in a number of countries. He also opened his own gallery in his hometown Nha Trang. This year he returns to Kristiansund to exhibit his poetic and personal imagery of his country.
Loc, driven by a passion for photography, uses his work to highlight everyday life of the Vietnamese population. Close-up images of children and the aged, exotic landscapes and pictures of people at work are included in what you will be able to enjoy when Mai Loc once again visits the festival.
